2016 Product Round Up

Better late than never, much like beginning this blog! Anyway here are my favorite products of 2016 that I could not live without!

Beginning with the base, the Philosophy Purity Cleanser was a staple for almost all of 2016. It really melted all of my makeup off at the end of the day and helped me feel a sense of cleanliness at the end of a long day. I followed with the Lush Eau Roma Water. This toner helped to clear out all the dirt in my pores while keeping my skin hydrated. I them followed up with Coconut Oil. Coconut oil was my holy grail of 2016. I used it to help with my dry skin, I even used it as a body oil, and hair mask. There as so many things that you could use coconut oil for. It should definitely be a staple for everyone. I then moisturized with the Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream for dry sensitive skin. I like using a cream based moisturizer because it is more rich therefore making it better for my dry skin. Anyone with dry skin not using a cream moisturizer should think about switching, it makes all the difference. img_0775

Then every once in a while I would use a face mask. My favorites were the Lush Oatifix and Cosmetic Warrior. I absolutely fell in love with these, especially using them one after another. I noticed a visible difference with my skin and I was very happy with it.

When it comes to the makeup portion, I could not have lived without my Smashbox Primer Water or M.A.C Fix Plus as a way to prime and set my face. It helped me get the dewy look that I love.

I like to mix foundations because then you can get your desired finish or color with two different kinds of products. I discovered the infamous Hourglass Mineral Vanish foundation in the color Ivory, which I immediately became a fan of. I draw a few lines of it on my face and then blend it out with my Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation in the color 4.5 on a damp beauty blender. This combination gives me the full coverage that I love while keeping the finish very luminous at the same time.

From this point I had let the foundation work into my skin and begin to do my brows. Most of the time I had gone in with my Anastasia Brow Definer in the color Soft Brown. This product makes it so easy to get my brows on and make it look very natural. After that I go back to my skin with some M.A.C Pro Longwear concealer in the color NC 2o. I just dabbed a little of this onto my troubled areas, until I got my desired results.

Because my skin is dry I love to go in with cream products and not set any of it with powder. But when I do, I loved going in with the Hourglass powder from the Ambient Lighting Palette in the shade Dim Light. It is lightweight and gives my skin the luminosity that I cannot live without.

Almost everyday I went in with the Soleil Tan De Chanel cream bronzer. I swiped my beauty blender inside and bounce it on all the areas in which the sun would naturally hit my face. I don’t think there was a day in 2016 where I didn’t use it. After I bronzed I grabbed my Becca X Jaclyn Hill Champagne Collection Face Palette and mostly used the color Champagne Pop to highlight my cheek bones, and I used the color Amaretto as blush. Unfortunately this palette was limited edition, but you can still get the highlighter separately.

My most used eye palettes of 2016 was most definitely the Modern Renaissance palette by Anastasia Beverly Hills and the Master Palette by Mario, limited edition, palette also from Anastasia Beverly Hills. I love all the colors in both of these palettes, they all so blend so easily and are perfect for everyday use.

I tried a bunch of different mascaras in 2016, but the ones that I used most were the Maybelline Lash Sensational and Covergirl The Super Sizer. The combination left my laimg_0802shes long and voluminous.

I used NYX Butter Gloss almost everyday in 2016. It leaves your lips feeling so soft and non sticky. The color that was a staple is “Creme Brûlée”. I am now on my second tube. I love this stuff so much.

Overall, these all were my favorite products that stuck with me throughout the year of 2016. Let me know what your favorites were and maybe I’ll give them a try!
